Each day I come up with a brilliant topic to write about……I think to myself about what I would write. I come up with these great outlines for the piece that I will write later in the day, and I know it’s gonna be great. The ideas usually come to me when I am in the middle of doing another task or running errands, and then when I sit down to write. It all disappears. I am at my keyboard trying to recall the thought I had, or the image that triggered my thought. NOTHING

For the last year and a half I have kept a journal. Writing a page a day, to keep the monsters away. The mental monsters. When I sit down to write I feel no pressure, no subject in particular. I just write. I have even begun my journal entry out as, “I have nothing to write about today.” That alone will begin to manifest itself in to something. I am sure it is random thoughts about nothing, however it is the act of releasing whatever is in my brain to the page.
